Duplicate IP issues in Smarts!!

Hi All,

We are facing an issue with one of the devices (Router) being managed under SMARTS .This device went down few days back and we didnt recieve any alerts related to this.

We have observed that device has most than one IP addresses listed under "Host Acess Points" attribute. And thus SMARTS pings all the IP addresses here to chcek the device availablity.
Now one of the device IP(LAN interface) are on Customer network facing side. And thus belong to private IP range. This IP range is also being used at other points in the Network and thus even in the case of complete router shutdown one of the IPs(from somewhere else) is still responding to the ICMP ping.

You can unmanage the customer network facing IP addresses using a script. You can do this as part of post discovery process. Discovery post processing has hooks to add your own logic to take care of such requirements.
