different poll timeouts --> different escalation within same domain
hi all,
scenario:
smarts sam/ipm v7.
a domain consists of several hosts to be monitored (icmponly).
all hosts have 1000ms timeout by default, response within this period = up.
their appropriate backup-solution has only 500ms timout. in case the response time is below 500ms, the backup-solution is in place and a notification should be sent (or site is showing yellow instead of green in the gui)
in case the now "yellow" site did not respond until whatever timeout, it should be stated as down.
so what i want to have is a notification in different stages.
maybe i don't see a bright shining option ... but .. any idea how to handle that ?
yes, i know, the backup-solution has a lower timeout than the primary path.
thanks

Not sure, whether the Polling and Threshold settings help here.

Hi Arun,
did not found any usefull settings here. I can set the default timeout and that's it.
Didn't see any "filtersets" to have different poll settings.
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
I think you can create separate groups for different types of devices and set different polling times.
Thanks
