Hello,

On the Domain Manager Administration Console, when you click on the Instance you are having the problem with. On the right panel, in the Instance Attributes screen. Does the attribute Name for Certification state Generic or Certified?

SMARTS reads any device listed as GENERIC as a node. You'll need to do a field certification in order to change the class of the device. Check out EMC Solution ID emc109147. I had the same problem and this is what support said, I think you'll have to open a support case also.

SolutionID: emc109147
Status: approved
Goal: How to create a Smarts Field Certification for a device when other similar devices for the vendor have been certified.
Fact: EMC SW: EMC Smarts IP Suite Availability Manager (Smarts AM)
Fix:
First, go through the existing certifications for the vendor and try to find a close match. ¿If¿it is a router, see if there are any routers certified for this vendor.¿ Also, look how close the OID of the device is to the already certified device. ¿The closest match will be used as a¿TEMPLATE.
Copy the existing Certification
sm_edit¿ conf/discovery/oid2type_Field.conf
Paste the certification to conf/discovery/oid2type_Field.conf
Modify the OID¿ to reflect the new device and change the CERTIFICATION type to TEMPLATE
Save the file. ¿It will be saved in the /IP/smarts/local/conf/discovery directory
To load the Field certification run the following command: ¿¿¿¿ /IP/smarts/bin/sm_tpmgr -s --reloadoid
Now discover devices with that OID.
Below is a template certification for a Cisco Router. ¿In order to configure this template for other Cisco Routers, one needs to fill in the SysOID and the MODEL and make sure that CERTIFICATION is set to TEMPLATE. { ¿¿¿ TYPE = Router ¿¿¿ VENDOR = Cisco ¿¿¿ MODEL = ¿¿¿ CERTIFICATION = TEMPLATE ¿¿¿ CONT = Cisco-Router ¿¿¿ NEIGHBOR = Cisco-Cdp ¿¿¿ HEALTH = Cisco-Router¿
INSTRUMENTATION: ¿¿¿ Environment¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ = CiscoEnvMon:DeviceID ¿¿¿ CPU/Memory¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ = CiscoRouter ¿¿¿ Interface-Fault¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ = MIB2 ¿¿¿ Interface-Performance¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ = CiscoRouter ¿¿¿ Interface-Ethernet-Performance¿¿¿¿¿ = CiscoRouter_Ethernet }¿
In this example I used Cisco 7100 certification below: Cisco 7100 Series Router (C7100-JK2S-M) .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.276 { ¿¿¿ TYPE = Router ¿¿¿ VENDOR = Cisco ¿¿¿ MODEL = C7100-JK2S-M ¿¿¿ CERTIFICATION = CERTIFIED ¿¿¿ CONT = Cisco-Router ¿¿¿ NEIGHBOR = Cisco-Cdp ¿¿¿ HEALTH = Cisco-Router¿

I hope this helps

InCharge6\(SAM or IP)\smarts\doc\html\certify\ICIP65_SP2_Certification.html <----Could be a different name depending on your Smarts Version

I find the Switch Cisco 3560-48TS with SystemObjectID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.634 not in the list in /opt/InCharge65/IP/smarts/doc/html/certify/ICIP651_Certification.html
