Adding a Process with spaces in its name for process monitoring in ESM (Smarts)
While trying to add process with spaces in its name for process monitoring in ESM, its giving out the error "Process Name Should not contain White Spaces". Yes infact we were trying to add a process that has got spaces in its name.
Is there any workaround to enable monitoring for this process

Hi 123blackjack,
The Smarts ESM gui will not allow you to save any process name with a white space, even if the actual process name running on the host has a name with a space.
Additionally, when a process is saved, it is not possible to edit the process backup file on the ESM Server(APP-.txt located at /opt/InCharge/ESM/smarts/local/conf/esm) and reload with the white space.The process name will update to the word before the white space only.
The only workaround I have found is to save the Process as a template. The template name will accept white spaces.
Once the template is saved with the white space, go to the Application Filters and set the filters to match the specific hosts you want to apply this template to.
Rediscovery the device in question in Smarts ESM and the template should be applied to the host, with the white space. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
