Should we change from ESRS IP Client to ESRS VE ?
Hi,
We are using VNX5100 and CX4-120 at our site. Currently, we use ESRS IP Client (Version 2.08.10.00) on a physical Windows 2008R2 Server (We don't get Policy Manager for ESRS here).
Recently, EMC Support Engineer upgraded the BLOCK OE for the VNX5100 and recommended us to upgrade the ESRS IP Client.
Just would like to seek your advice whether we should upgrade the IP Client to the latetst version (i.e. Release 2.28) or change over to ESRS VE ?

From ESRS VE Customer Implementation Guide, it mentions
If the environment only contains Clariion and/or VNX Block devices, consider installing the ESRS VNX IP Client solution. This solution combines all the necessary monitoring and diagnostic tools with a simplified version of the ESRS, all of which can be installed on a single Windows workstation.
Just wonder is there any specific benefit for us from changing from IP Client to ESRS VE ?
