Ports 443 and 8443
Question: Does ESRS installation require opening and supporting both ports 443 and 8443?
Answer: Port 8443 is used for communication between the ESRS application and the Policy Manager. This is strictly within the customer's network and does not need to be opened externally. Port 8443 is also used for communication with EMC. ESRS will utilize port 443 if 8443 is not available. However, port 443 will result in slower data transfer between the ESRS application and EMC. Whenever possible, it is strongly encouraged to use both ports 443 and 8443 in order to expedite transfer rates and provide the highest levels of support.
