ESRS on SPs - Error: Unable to connect Servers.[0x9010]
I'm attempting to setup ESRS on the SPs of two VNX5300 arrays. I follow the instructions in the attached documentation, click manage ESRS, enter my support.emc.com credentials, click apply, then get error "Error: Unable to connect Servers.[0x9010]".
I've verified DNS is working correctly by pinging support.emc.com from both SPs. I've attached the PDF instructions and screenshots.
Anyone know what this error means?

Hello
Could you please re-verify internet access is granted or not, and also your VNX S/N is registered in EMC Online support.
1. please click below link and find your site ID
https://support.emc.com/myproducts/
2. Find "Contact Status : Active, IB Status; Installed " against your VNX S/N.
regards
Manabu

I rechecked and it in fact was being blocked, didn't see that before, thank you.
I have re-verified that contract status is active, and IB Status is "install" next the VNX S/N. Should this be installed instead of install?
I am getting a new error now. After about five minutes of processing, the error "java.lang.NullPointerException" is returned, see image.

I encountered the same issue before. I think the issue was a Java permissions pop-up that was hiding underneath. Once I clicked "allow" it went through okay.

Not saying it isn't a java permission problem, but I don't see a pop-up hiding. I've added the IPs for all storage processors in the ctrl panel > java > security section, and when the popups first appeared I clicked "always accept". I also verified the problem happens on multiple computers.

Hello,
I have the same issue with several customers.
The weird thing is that I'm getting the same java.lang.NullPointerException while setting up ESRS. It doesn't matter if you start with SP-A or SP-B.
But if you close the window after the error message and you return into "manage ESRS" the Agent shows up as connected. Even the template is installed.
Right now I managed both SPs and both are connected even with the error message mentioned above.
I called EMC to check the status of ESRS.
I keep you up to date.

So, I called EMC² again and the technician tested ESRS. Everything is working fine.
So I asked him, where the error is coming from ...
Nobody knows, it could be Java, I don't know. I never had this error before.
Well. I hope that this will be solved soon or that there will be an answer to this error.
Have a good weekend everybody

Hi,
So far the kb audience is restricted, I am going to check with the owner if a part of it can be released to customer's audience.
In the meantime, it basically says that the java error is caused by a timeout when applying template to both SP.
It is important to mention that it does not prevent callhome feature from working as long as status "connected" is shown in Manage ESRS as mentionned by mzandboer.
A fix has been developed and will be integrated in a future release.
