ESRS Install and VNX admin password change

During the install of ESRS you are prompted to input the VNX user/password (ex: admin/admin) so it can log onto thte system. If you change this password on the VNX, how do you change it on ESRS?

Thanks!

During install, the ESRS IP Client needs to configure centralized monitoring with the storage array so that it can communicate with the workstation.  This is a "one-time" event to configure alerting where authentication with the array is required.  At the end of the install, there is a note about how to add the workstation IP address to the RemotelyAnywhere section of the VNX setup page (exclusive deny is default).  RemotelyAnywhere is the direct connection used by support to access the storage processors for troubleshooting, using a built-in account.  However, for situations like remote code upgrades, EMC would need to have the user account documented in the secure CRM database.  This would need to be communicated to the local EMC field service (CE / ASR).  While an account with admin rights is needed to do code upgrades, you can create an "emc" Unisphere account with limited rights, like a monitor role.  And then provide this to EMC personnel to have it documented for everyday basic troubleshooting.  For a VNX Unified / File array, at a minimum the "nasadmin" account password should be provided for EMC support.

In regards to changing the Password on VNX the previous reply explained the process,  Once ESRS is implemented

EMC access to your VNX  requires no password change, They use a secure RSA credentials,  and then select the Product Device  and choose what remote tool to use for Access (Product device)  Server, Service Processor, etc..)

Once selected (navicli, SSH, RemotelyAnywhere, Unisphere..etc..) the option in your PolicyManager is processed

(no PolicyManager, or for additional Security (Always Ask, where  EMC contacts you for permission, Default is Always Grant).   The only passwords they use is default RemotelyAnywhere, or the Product password, if they can not log into the product and the password is not updated in the Connection records, then customer or their Field rep will get a call.
