Can ESRS and Modem connection co-exisits?

Hello,

I have a customer whose VMAX 20/40K connected via modem.  We have just set up ESRS(v2) Gateway environment and will deploy their VMAX shortly.

Customer does have Policy Manager to restrict dial-in as they are financial company and have strict security policy.

The problem here is that customer does not have anyone to authorize ESRS dial-in request until few weeks from now.  So even though VMAX will be configured to use ESRS very shortly we would like modem to be stay connected in case we need to dial in for the next few weeks.

I have heard from a few people around that VMAX SP is not capable to support both ESRS and modem connection at the same time.  If we enable ESRS modem cannot be used.  And if we would like modem to be used for next few weeks, ESRS should not be configured on the SP.  However no one ever encountered this unique situation and cannot tell 100% sure if ESRS and modem can co-exists or not.

So If anyone ever had experience to use dual connection ( modem and ESRS ) please let me know.

Thanks,

Only about Call home, VMAX can use ESRSGW and Modem simultaniously.

I have done this before with VMAX in production situation.

For Remote Connection, I think it is possible also, but actually I am not sure this can be done.

It seems be possible if you use EMC remote for modem and RA for ESRS simultaniously.

I recommend you can try this in RDC.
