Update SCG policy Manager
Hello, we need to update our policy Manager for SCG (go to 5.0.7), but I didn't find anything in user guide on how to do this.
Do we need to deploy a new policy Manager each new version ? With all reconfiguration to do ?
Thanks

Hi,
I have the same questions! Im fine if we need to re-deploy, but the reconfiguration is making some headache without a backup/restore function.

Techocrt/Worrow,
On the Virtual Edition you can click on the "About" page, which shows you what is installed and gives you a button to "Check for Updates", I would start there.
Let me know how it goes.

Let me research the issue for you, as the Policy Manager is part of EMC, and I will have to touch base with them. Now due to the holidays that may take some time. Please be patient and I will be back with you shortly.

Another route, as seen here, is to contact them directly so they can analyze the system.

In my opinion after researching the issue, if there isn't an upgrade banner the product gets automatically, and with the PM file being of OVA/VHD formats (entire image), that there isn't a way to upgrade, just to redeploy.
Let me know if this helps.

I figured I'd update this with info to help anyone else looking for steps to complete the upgrade with the upgrade zip files you can download rather than full redeployment of appliance. There is actually a Dell video for completing upgrade on version 5.10 which applies going forward, but you should follow the KB to increase appliance resources first as a prerequisite in case you didn't previously complete resources increase.
