SA-9025 error SAE

Hello, I am struggling with setup of SAE 2.0.21 monitoring capability for T140 server running Windows Server 2019 Essentials. SAE is installed locally, SAE initial setup is completed, SNMP and OMA configured, and still, validation shows "Failed", with the error:

SA-9025 : SupportAssist Enterprise is unable to verify the monitoring capability because:

  1. The credential account assigned to the device does not have superuser privileges.
  2. The IP address of the device may have changed.
  3. Networking sharing is disabled on the device.

a) iDRAC is configured and has static IP and is connected

b) SNMP service is installed and configured for public community name and server IP is added

c) AD Domain Admin credentials are added into credentials manager in SAE and credential profile is assigned to the device (Server).

I would appreciate any help as no other related articles in this forum are helpful.

Thank you.

Michael

Hey you will need to supply the login details for the IDrac as well as the server.

Have a look at https://www.dell.com/support/article/how11858 > Configuring SupportAssist to monitor remote servers

Supply IDrac / Windows / Switch / Storage credentials then assign them to a profile. Then re add the device using the new profile.

Thank you very much for your suggestion. I've created a credential profile where both credentials (iDRAC and Windows AD) are added. Then I've tried to re-add the device (as server/hypervisor), but when adding the server, I can only select AD (Windows) credentials as the credential to be used for the discovery. The server is detected and added properly, and then I instantly get the failed validation with the SA-9025 error.

When I tried to use the "Assign profile" function and assigning the abovementioned profile with both credentials (iDRAC and Windows AD) included, I get the SA-9025 error again.

Thanks.

Hey Mikoavk,

The IP of the device your are trying to add is this Windows / VMware / IDrac?

Just had a look at that error in the manual

SA-9025 SupportAssist Enterprise is unable to run the script file because of one of the following:

You may not have superuser privileges on the system.
You have not entered the Management Server IP address.
Network sharing might be disabled.

Perform the following:

Ensure that you have superuser privileges on the system.
Enter the Management Server IP address.

So if windows can you RDP to the system

Add / check the user is added to the local administrotor group.

Check the services

1. Access the Windows Services console.

a. Windows Server 2008 R2 and earlier- At the DC's desktop Start menu, select Run, and type 'Services.msc'.

b. Windows Server 2012 and later- Press the Windows key + Q, and type 'services.msc' in the 'search' box. Click on the
'services.msc' icon when displayed

2. Locate the Computer Browser service. Right-click & and choose Properties.

3. Set the Startup Type to Automatic & click Apply. The Start option for the Computer Browser service should now be available.
Click Start to get the service running and click OK to exit.

4. Repeat the process for the following services if they are not already enabled & running:

DNS Client (typically enabled and running by default)
Function Discovery Resource Publication
SSDP Discovery
UPnP Device Host
SMTP

5. Now when Network Discovery is enabled, the setting will remain enabled.

Delete and readd the device

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestions.

I am adding the server as Server/Hypervisor using Windows AD Domain Admin credentials profile, as I've read it is a preferred mode of adding a Windows server due to enhanced functionality. Local Admins group is not available, as the server is Domain Controller.

Tried to add it as iDRAC device as well, using iDRAC credentials, but this time the error was SA-9035 (SNMP not configured, even though it is..checked) and an additional error about missing iDRAC license. The license shipped with the T140 server is iDRAC Express (I assume, as no other license was bought separately).

I've enabled the services you mentioned, but it didn't help. Computer Browser service is not installed by default on 2012+ systems, and SMB1.0/CIFS role feature needed to be installed first. The reason it is not installed on modern OS's is because the SMB1 is considered outdated and a security risk.

After adding the server still shows as "failed" with SA-9025.
