Monitoring PowerVault ME4012

Hello,

We've added a PowerVault ME4012 in the SCG, but we get an error that the monitoring capability isn't working. It shows Error code : SAR-020087, but I can't find anything on that code.

Can someone tell me what we need to update in the configuration of the ME4012 to allow monitoring?

SNMP is enabled en Monitor is checked in the account that we use to connect to the PowerVault.

The error code itself just means "We cannot monitor this device with it is current configuration. Update your configuration on the device to
allow monitoring, then try again." according to the manual. Can you confirm if you had a monitoring tool prior to using SCG, and that it was working correctly? Basically, I'm looking to confirm if this error isolates to SCG only.

Previously we had SupportAssist in place (still next to it for now).

This is giving an error which is similar:

SA-9060 : Monitoring is dependent on the configuration of the device. SupportAssist Enterprise does not support verifying the monitoring capability of the device.

So maybe I have to post in another section, because it looks like it has something to do with the configuration of the ME4012.

Hello André,
When I looked at the warning messages, it made me think that there was something about the ME4 side. Then I saw an article regarding Support Assist, it is disabled by default, can you try to enable it like here?

I've enabled SupportAssist on the ME4, but still the same error in SCG.

Turned out it was a bug in SCG that would be resolved in the next update.
Today I installed the latest update and the error is gone, but still no green checkmark.
Instead it shows a blue informational icon and the following message:

"This gateway does not support automatic SNMP configuration for this device type, we can support monitoring if it's manually configured on the device. Refer to section 17 "Configuring SNMP settings" of the secure connect gateway user guide for instructions on updating your config."

The Help section isn't much of a help in this, but on the ME4012 we've configured the SCG as SNMP Trap server. The test is successful and we see this in the application log on the SCG.
But still the message is there, so not sure if monitoring capability is working correct now.

Did you ever resolve this? I just configured a new SCG. ME4024 are the only devices which have a ! against monitoring capability.
