Manage group members issue

When editing the group membership, the checkbox and "move" arrows don't seem to work. Instead, all available devices will move, whether or not the device is checked.

I've tried with two Chromium-based browsers and IE with the same result.

We don't have another SCG if that is what you mean. I'd be happy to get on a Zoom session with support if necessary, though that'll have to be next week.

Hello bennett.blodinger,

This may take more research.

Could you try clear the browser cache and/or try a different browser and let me know the behavior?

I can provide your feedback to one of our teams, but this is the first I'm hearing of this issue. Is there by chance another system to test with? It may help verify any issues with the software.

Well, that may be the best course of action, then. I'd test myself, but don't have an SCG instance available to do so. That Zoom session ought to be able to determine the path forward pretty quickly, however.

I'm having the same issue.  Tried different browsers, no luck.  Running version

5.00.07.10.

Za5vod,

I have tested this and it is working fine, so it isn't a universal issue with SGC. I would agree with the previous posters that it sounds like an issue with the browser or your configuration.

Do you have any additional details we can work with?

I'm sorry for the delay, had a lot going on.

This appears in Microsoft Edge 98 and Google Chrome 98. I've disabled every extension I have.

Bennett.Blodinger,

I tested it on another appliance and it works perfectly fine, so without any other details that can lead us to reproduce it, then my suggestion would be to call in so we can try to discover the root cause directly.

Just an FYI to anyone curious, this only happens to "EMC" devices, not "Dell" devices. From the support request:

I apologize for the confusion. The device grouping feature was a feature on the dell equivalent of ESRS. Since SCG is an integration of both ESRS and Dell's support assist enterprise it included device grouping as an option but it really only works on 'dell' devices, IE servers, hypervisors, iDRACs.
Here is our support matrix for SCG.
https://dl.dell.com/content/manual45019442-secure-connect-gateway-5-00-07-xy-virtual-edition-support-matrix.pdf?language=en-us&ps=true

On pages 7-8, column 2 you see which devices are supported by this feature. Almost no 'emc' devices are, and you can see on page 8 that VXrails are not.

I just saw that too.  Really wish it would give a warning or something.  We have lots of different "groups" of equipment attached to our SCG, but not all of them have/need the same notifications/shipping info for parts.  Device groups seemed like a good way to handle that, but the app is too limited it seems.

Well, if you were thinking the latest 5.10.0.10 update would FIX the problem - you'd be wrong.  You can tell the developers made some changes.  I had the same issue with my deployment, and never could get it to work.

I upgraded the other day to this latest release, but now the problem is worse.  I deleted all the custom groups I had created and started new.  I create the groups just fine, but now I go to populate them from the default group and now I see no devices:

So, went from all of them popping into whatever group (no selection as mentioned) - to now no servers even being found (even though it reports 14 devices in the default group.  So frustrating.
