Help with using Open manage appliance and support assist

I'm having trouble here with using the appliance and wanting support assist, we've moved from a windows model with support assist but want to have support assist running with the appliance, is this possible?

I've installed the appliance and got the discoveries completed which is fine, I've then created a windows box and installed SA Ent 1.2 but when I setup the adapter I'm getting error SA-20130 is presented and certainly the issue for us against this error is "The remote system must be running a windows OS" ? really - so is there no way of running the appliance and using SA Ent 1.2? or is there a link to setup for this scenario.
