Dell EMC ECS to SCG 5.0 Connectivity

Hi Community,

Has anyone configured ECS (Elastic Cloud Storage) nodes for utilization of Secure Connect Gateway 5.0?

Best,

Tom

Hello Tom,

Document outlines what to expect from the EMC Storage stuff (Other supported data storage model).  It is essentially a proxy to the back end like they described.

Hi @tombratton,

I'm Joey from Dell social support. I don't think SCG is supported on ECS, based on the compatibility matrix document here: https://dell.to/3asS8BY. If could be a future feature, hence it would good that you can contact phone support to raise a feature request.

Hi, @DELL-Joey C

I have deployed the SCG 5.0 Virtual Edition, which states ECS is supported and can be found here via this link on page 9 and 30: https://dl.dell.com/content/docu105640_secure-connect-gateway-5-00-00-xy-virtual-edition-support-matrix.pdf?language=en_us

In addition I have already successfully connected ECS to SCG 5.0 virtual edition and validated connectivity to Dell within ECS software. The odd piece is that ECS doesn't show up as a managed device within SCG and SCG is only acting as proxy for call home from ECS using ECS's built in SRS setup.

Best,
Tom

Hi there,

What are the communication requirements between the ESRS node and the ECS nodes?

Appreciate your feedback.
