SRDF/A using port based routing on Brocade SAN ?

Hello

We're in the process of implementing SRDF/A between two VMAXs in a campus location, connected to 8Gbps baldes in Brocade 48000 Directors,

connected via multiple trunked 9 micron ISLs.

We were required to use a  Port-based routing policy on our SAN islands (rather than the present default Exchanged-based routing ) but have noted

in the SRDF Connectivity Guide that Exchange-based routing is recommended.

We're using port-based routing because it is required for our HP EVA CA (replication) - which doesn't get on with Exchange- based routing.

Eventually, as we migrate off EVA onto VMAX this won't be an issue, but in the meantime, with a need to maintain Brocade port-based routing, will

we compomise using SRDF/A.

If anyone has been in a similar situation or has experience of using different routing policies with EMC we'll be pleased to hear from them.

Hope i've posted this one in the correct section of the forums - please put me straight otherwise.

Thanks

John

I see that HP EVa are supported with Echange based routing. Please refer a link on Brocade community on the Exchange based Routing on 4800 directors.

Hi Govindagouda

We are indeed using CA to replicate between our EVAs - hence our

requirement here for port-based routing - as discussed in the link.

We did use exchange and saw issues on the ISLs and so changed to

port-based routing.

Therefore we need to know more details of the status of SRDF/A and

port-based routing - at least for the time being.

thanks
