The first thing I recommend you do is make sure that the new RM version supports your environment. Verify and make sure that the SQL, Exchange, Oracle and/or Sharepoint are supported by RM 5.4.

Once you verify the install is pretty easy. On each host you will upgrade the following software:

  • NaviCLI
  • Admsnap
  • Solutions Enabler
  • RM Server
  • RM Agent

All of the above software can be downloaded from PowerLink. Navigate to: Home > Support > Software Downloads and Licensing

Before you upgrade I recommend you pause all your schedules in RM. Upgrade the RM Server first before upgrading the RM Agent hosts. The RM Admin Guide is pretty good and has an upgrade section. Take a look at page 69. The guide can also be downloaded from PowerLink. Navigate to: Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Software ~ P-R ~ Documentation > Replication Manager > Maintenance/Administration
