Replication Manager 5.4.1 with ESXi5 and VMFS-Application
Hi Folks,
just have an interessting thing here...
I have an application-set (Oracle) installed on a VM. The application data (db-files and log files) reside on VMFS-Volumes instead of Raw Devices. Each VMFS-Datastore is dedicated to one "portion" of the data (so one Datastore for one for Oracle-DB, one for Oracle Logs). The creation of Snapshots and so one works fine but when I try to mount the snap via RM to another VM as Mount-Host I run in the old well known issue with the "disallow.snapshot" on VMware.
Now, if I create a plain VMFS-Job / Application Set in RM, I have the ability to let RM perform the resignature, but if I do the application set and job with application integration (like I did for Oracle), I do not have this option in the mount properties. Does anyone have a clue how to get those mounted to the VM?
thanks... Markus

So you are using Virtual disk for RM Oracle replication . There is a limit if you have multiple virtual disk in the VMFs lun
Replication Manager can replicate configurations with multiplevirtual disks per datastore (VMFS), but mount and restore will fail in these configurations.Replication Manager requires that each virtual disk is to be the only virtual disk in its datastore (VMFS),
and there may only be one physical LUN (Celerra, Symmetrix or CLARiiON, or VNX) assigned to the datastore.
