irccd daemon is spawning defunct processes
We are running a DMX-4 (SAN) and Solaris 10. We discovered that the irccd daemon spaws defunct processes every so often. Does anyone know how to correct this behavior?

Hello roh2011.
How are you detecting defuncts? Just a cron'ed ps -ef/aux script running on the Solaris box as part of health monitoring?
How many defunct processes will IRCCD build up? Is it always one or two at a maximum?
RM Client will use perhaps (depending on your configuration) one or two defunct processes and this is normal. The defunct processes enables the RM Client to reserve certain resources (socket/ip) to ensure the next time it requires those resources to operate, it will release the defunct process and use that reserved socket/port.
Thanks
James.
