026150 ERROR:Function dcClarSVGetNumSessions failed

I have an SQL job that creates local clones, SAN Copies them to a DR site with Clones attached to the replicas. I snap the Replicas every evening.

Yesterday I had to add a File System LUN to the SQL job for a total of 5 LUNs in the job. 4 SQL and 1 File System. The run through all the operations just fine but last nights SnapShot failed with this error. 026150 ERROR:Function dcClarSVGetNumSessions failed. I tried to recreate the job but to no avail.

Any insight to this issue would be great
Thanks

Hey Drozz

If the filesystem is not an active part of your SQL Database, what steps did you do in order for RM to include the filesystem also?

This means you have a mixed appset and I dont know how valid that actually is.

This error is being investigated but it seems not to many people have a file system replication included in the SQL job. If I hear anything I will post immediately.

Thanks

Yes That's what support told me. They said it isn't specifically mentioned in the "Can Nots" but isn't mentioned in the "Cans" either. I spilt the job off and it's fine.

The odd thing to me was the clone, replication and dr clone set were fine. Just the snap failed everytime. It looked like it thought it had a session open and couldn't find it.

Oh well, my system goes full on production so the config fun is coming to a close anyway.

Thanks Again

Ahh - one thing - this is a long shot

Check on the DR Clariion that for each of the DR target clones (what a mouth full) does not have a "half" snapshot.

I mean a left over snapshot session without a snapshot name or vica versa.
Delete it, run an array discovery on the remote DR array and go again.

James.

I tried this and it still thinks it should be attaching to a session for the file system

This device doesn't exist and it thinks it should apparently. I deleted all my clone sets for this job, deleted and redefined the job and get the same exact errors.

If I remove the file system snap, it works fine.

Its "open a Support Case" time I am afraid Drozz.

What version of RM? :-)
Are you trying to use consistent split in the options of the job?
If so, trying removing that and try again.

James.

Thats OK. We went production with the file system job split off. Thanks Again!
