VPLEX consistency group with Recoverpoint
I have a VPLEX splitter with recoverpoint setup at production site, DR is using VNX Splitter.
Initially when i setup I only have CRR, for VPLEX I have created a consistency group named as MY_CG with recoverpoint enabled.
In RPA, I have created CG with the same name "MY_CG" for the CRR setup.
Customer requested CDP copy so for the production site, I have added the CDP target volume to MY_CG VPLEX consistency group.
I am getting the following warning message " WARNING: A VPLEX consistency group contains volumes from more than one Recoverpoint copy. It is recommeded a VPLEX consistency group contain volumes from only one Recoverpoint copy. VPLEX consistency group;[MY_CG]; Production site.
Based on the warning above, it seem to me that I will need to create another Recoverpoint enabled consistency group in VPLEX and put those CDP target volume inside. I thought we should following the same CG name for both VPLEX CG and Recoverpoint CG for alignment purpose. How should I do this for CDP copy?

Hi,
It's correct that the recommendation is to create a separate VPLEX CG for the local copy. There's no restriction/around the names of the VPLEX and RP CGs. Recommendations relate to alignment of volumes between the two CG types.
Hope that helps,
