VNX Splitters and Storage Groups
I am getting the following error message when doing the SAN diagnostics:
SAN view is empty. Check zoning and LUN masking.
However, when I do a Detect Fibre Channel targets I get the correct response (the 2 VNX ports).
So from that I assume teh zoning is correct.
How many storage groups do I create in Unisphere and do I assign/register all the host initiators to one host?
Thanks

Did you put a lun in the storage group? if not do that then re-run SAN diagnostics.

Hi there,
There is guidance for this type of deployment in both the RP Deployment Product Guide and the Deploying RecoverPoint with VNX and Clariion Arrays Technical Notes.
I would check the following:
- Ensure tall of the RPA initiators are set to failover mode 4
- Add all the RPA initators to a dedicated RecoverPoint Storage Group (this contained the Repository volumes, Journal volumes and data volumes
- Ensure the VNX storage ports that the RPAs are zoned to are not used by MV
Please note that the Deployment Manager RP/SE Installer performs all the required configuration and verification steps .

This is detailed in the two documents I mentioned. The RP/SE Installer Wizard actively prevents this configuration. You will need to disable MirrorView to allow you to continue.

I am using the Deployment Manager RP installer. Now I do see I am connecting to the ports assigned to MorrorView (B-0 and A-0), the other ports are being used in another VSAN unfortunately.
