VMware SRM failover using RecoverPoint adapter issue
Hey all,
When running a failover (recovery) test in VMware SRM 5.0 on a Protection Group that is using VNX LUNs recpliated using RecoverPoint we notice an issue. When we do a complete failover (referred to in SRM as recovery) the target LUN on the remote vCenter server mounts as a datastore to the ESX servers with a prefix of snap-xxxxxx-orignalLUNname. Is this expected behavior or do we need to tweak some parameters in ESX?
Thanks,

That's expected and that's exactly how it should work. You can change it but that's the default. Go to advanced settings of SRM and change the "fixrecovereddatastorenames" from false to true.

Thank Ernes! So will changing that parameter go against best practice or cause any other issues since both sites are managed from the same vCenter setup? Alternatively, can we change the datastore name manually on the target site will that cause any issues?
Where exactly is the advanced settings tab?
Thanks!

Nope, it will not. You can change it and it will not violate best practices. You can also change the datastore name manually when you failover, that's fine as well.
I don't have acess to SRM right now and cannot remember where the Advanced Menu is. Go to SRM and just start right-click on a bunch of items on the left-hand side
