Using RecoverPoint with Microsoft SQL 2010

I have RecoverPoint 3.5 sp1 running CRR. I need to ensure SQL at my DR site has an application consistent copy. If RecoverPoint provides a crash consistent copy, what is needed to make SQL 2010 application consistent at DR?

Thanks

Couple ways to do this. One is to use replication manager which has ties into SQL and Recoverpoint, you can schedule application consistent bookmarks to occur. The other option is to use kvss which is part of RecoverPoint SA tools which the delivery team can give you. Here is a snipit from the admin guide

Create and mark an application-consistent point in time

The RecoverPoint KVSS utility is a command-line utility that enables applying bookmarks to Windows 2003 and 2008-based applications that support Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS). Microsoft Exchange and SQL are examples of Windows applications that support Volume Shadow Copy Service.

A single bookmark can be used to bookmark VSS-aware applications in many consistency groups. VSS guarantees that the applications are in a consistent state at the point-in-time when each bookmark is applied to an image. As a result, recovery using an image with a KVSS bookmark is faster than recovering from normal RecoverPoint images.

KVSS bookmarks are created using the kvss.exe bookmark command in Windows 32-bit environments, and kvssx64.exe bookmark command in Windows 64-bit environments.

The working folder for running KVSS commands is %SystemDriver%/EMCRecoverPointVSSProvider/.

darkgable1,

Please consider moving this question to the proper forum for maximum visibility.  Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and questions can go unanswered for a long time.

You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right.  Then search for and select: "RecoverPoint" which would be the most relevant for this question.

Seeing though that one month has elapsed since you posted, maybe you have already found the answer (possibly opened up a ticket with support)?  If so, once relocated, consider sharing the resolution and also marking the question as "Answered" so that it can help others that have the same question.  If not, once relocated, it will then have more visibility by the community of dedicated customers, partners, and EMC employees that are eager to assist.
