Splitter error
Hi people -
I had one of my esxi hosts die on me yesterday. I lost the boot device it was using, so had to reinstall. I restored a configuration backup that was about 5 months old, but I did have RP4VM running at that point.
I reinstalled the kdriver as well, but after migrating my RPA back to the host I get the message:
ERROR: In Cluster 0x7d85bfc7189c59b7_0.0, ESX Host cannot see RPA2. Verify that ESX Host can see all RPAs at the relevant cluster. ; Commerce ; vhost-c2.xxx.xxxxx
(this is from the get_system_status command)
I have no idea how to resolve this issue. Any ideas?
Edit:
I'm also getting this message:
Summary: Fibre Channel is down
More information: Fibre Channel link between RPA and splitters or storage volumes (or both) is down.
Service Request info: N/A............................................
Thanks
Adam

Did you recreate the iSCSI vmkernels on the ESXi host?

After setting things back up, all my consistency groups went into the init phase. After that completed over the weekend the "fiber channel" came back up, and the error disappeared.

No, it wasn’t the iSCSI vmkernels… those were already configured when I had the issue. I made no configuration changes, I just let the system “catch up” and it seems to be working properly now.

Hi Adam,
Was it just the iSCSI vmkernels?
