RP4VM - The cluster is unreachable

Hello,

I'm running into a strange problem that has occurred at two sites with RP4VM (entirely separate environments with no relation to each other). Shortly after the installation completes the vCenter listed under Administration -> vCenter Servers displays "The cluster is unreachable. Probably due to VC credential change. Please update". To clarify, it seems to work for a while where it will display the vCenter and show connection as ok but then degrades to this state.

In both cases: The vCenter service credentials have not changed and neither have the user accounts on the Recoverpoint. If I try using the edit link to input the information again, I get the following error: "Authentication to RecoverPoint failed, Have you changed VC credentials lately?".

I can login to the RP clusters using both admin and boxmgmt without issue. I can also run get_vcenter_server_credentials and it displays the correct information.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? I'm not sure how to troubleshoot any further and am open to ideas.

Hi there,

Yes, it can be related to a number of things. Can you start by checking that the splitter VIB is installed on the relevant ESXi hosts and that they match the RP version. Can you also check that the correct components (Devices, Paths, Targets) are showing under the iSCSI Software Adapter.

Regards,

Rich
