RP 4.4.1 Protect Volumes option greyed out

Periodically, logging in to Unisphere for RecoverPoint as admin, the Protect Volumes option will be greyed out and I cannot create any new consistency groups.

I can log out and log in to the Remote site and the Protect Volumes option will be available to me.

I've had the issue on both sites and in both scenarios, I can log in to the 'other' RP site gui and the option will be available.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue.

If it matters, we have 2 sites, with 4 physical RPA's at each site, using Xtremio storage.

Can you confirm that you haven't exceeded the licensing capacity limit?

XtremIO array licensing is per X-Brick and is limited to the size of the X-Brick, 10TB, 20TB or 40TB.

we have 30TB physical x-bricks.with 19TB allocated (63%). That usage will drop because we are finishing up a migration project that includes svmotioning to new datastores, so we are running duplicate datastores.

How does that licensing apply in this case? It's well known that you buy less capacity on XtremIO because of the dedupe and compression capabilities.

RP treats the volume as a thick volume. Can you check your systems limitations and licensing page in the UI. It could be that you have protected more volumes at the source than on the remote, hence the behaviour.

both sides say 76.2TB capacity usage

system limits are well below all limit theresholds.

We do have bi-directional replication but Site A (labeled Prod) has more configured CG's replicating to Site B (DR).

so, the issue appeared again today. I typically log in with our AD credentials as I am an 'admin' in RP.

After trying both sites and both sites being greyed out trying to 'Protect Volumes', i logged out and logged back in as rhe RP admin user and the option to 'Protect Volumes' was not greyed out.

I'm thinking it may be a communication issue back to the DC for domain account authentication.

Since it's not reproducible at will, it's difficult to open a SR.

This could be an LDAP related issue so I would capture a screenshot and then the logs for the timeline and open an SR.

Rich
