Replacing XtremIO with VPLEX splitters
I have a customer who currently is configured as XtremIO with RP and VMware SRM. They are looking to put in a VPLEX Metro to do HA rather than DR. Can anyone give me insight into what it would take to change the RP splitters from XIO to VPLEX?

What array/splitter do they have at the target side? Is this going to be a MetroPoint topology or remote protection?
Besides the standard VPLEX encapsulation procedure that you have to follow to present the storage via VPLEX to the host, from a RP layer,
· Make sure the RP Cluster(s) see the VPLEX Splitter
o Perform FE and BE zoning
o Create CGs on VPLEX w/ RP-Enabled & and when appropriate add the volumes to be protected to the appropriate VPLEX CG(s). See the VPLEX TN for more details
· Ensure the VPLEX Splitter(s) are licensed
· You can perform the following for one CG at a time:
o Remove the RP CG
o unmask from the BE (XtremIO) devices, present the VPLEX VVs which encapsulate the previously protected XtremIO volumes and create CG(s).
o Create a new CG using the VPLEX volumes and wait until full-sweep is complete.
