Remove production journal - full sweep required?
Hello,
I have a requirement to use different production journals than are currently assigned for a CG today. Can I remove these journals and add new ones without a full init occurring?
To clarify terms: production journal = journals where production volume lives that are not used unless link between sites is down, or CG failover.
copy journal = active journal that is *not* being changed.

You cannot avoid a full sweep as the Prod copy journal holds the metadata tracking tables for the Prod volumes in the CG.

Thank you. One additional question.
If I use VNX lun migration, this will not work either, correct? I read in another post that this would wipe the journal.

This should work fine. There was a KB on this process but I can't seen to track it down.
