Recoverpoint with Cisco UCS 6248 Interconnect

I have a VNX5400 which is FC connected to a UCS pod with (2) 6248 fabric interconnects.   I'd like to add Recoverpoint appliances into the environment.   Can I attach the RPAs directly into the 6248s or do I need to obtain an MDS and then attach the storage and RPAs into the MDS and then the MDS into the 6248s?
