RecoverPoint Splitter: Change from VPLEX to VNX
Our Environment has the VNX Replication License, which means we can use RecoverPoint/MirrorView on the VNX with no limitations. However we recently encapsulated this with VPLEX, and with that we are using a VPLEX splitter. The RecoverPoint license for VPLEX is space specific and we wanted to know if an encapsulated lun can use the VNX splitter for replication. If yes, will that help with the license. If no, again, can we use the VNX license since we already have one on encapsulated luns.

The VPLEX splitter supports VPLEX volumes and the VNX splitter supports VNX volumes.

Recoverpoint with VPLEX Splitter comes with RP/EX license, and VNX would come with RP/SE & RP/EX license. You can still replicate LUNs using RP/EX and VNX Splitter but you need to have a license installed on RP with VNX serial Number.
and RP/EX would be capacity based, if you want to replicate without capacity restriction you will need RP/SE and i would strongly recommend you to talk to your sales/account team to explain you in a better way.
Cheers,
