RecoverPoint & RecoverPoint for VMs Journal Size - not as much as you think!

RecoverPoint and RecoverPoint for VMs support a minimal Journal space of 10GB per Copy per Consistency Group. When users only need the latest point in time for recovery (similar to alternative replication technologies) rather than having multiple points in time in the Copy Journal, and have a concern of the cost of Journal space, the minimum Journal space can be used. This will add up to a nominal additional storage requirement. For example, in a system with 32 CGs, total Copy Journal space of only 320GB at source and 320GB at target would be required in such a case.

Note that Distributed Consistency Groups,  Journal history, Journal Consolidation, and most importantly distribution throughput will impose additional requirements. For that and additional best practices, refer to product documentation and sizing tools.
