Recoverpoint Journal Volume Expansion (Distributed Consistency Group)

I'm trying to modify a consistency group that is a single CG today and want to make it distributed, when enabling distributed I get:

Question I have now is, what process do I need to follow if any to make recoverpoint aware of the increase.  I have Local Protection along with Remote Protection so I would need to increase journal on each array, just trying to get a sense of the process and if there are any gotchas.

Resizing the Journal Volume for a Consistency Group

Warning! The following procedure disables and re-enables the Consistency Groups which will cause full sweep.

  1. Using the RecoverPoint Console, disable the Consistency Group (CG).

    a. Right-click consistency group.
    b. Select Disable group.
  2. Remove the journal LUN from the group.

    a. Highlight the consistency group.
    b. Click Replication Sets tab and double-click the Replication Set containing the journal LUN to be resized.
    c. Select the correct journal volume from the list on the left side pane.
    d. Click Remove volume.
    e. Click Apply.
  3. Resize the LUN on the array. Review array specific documentation for procedure to resize LUNs.
  4. Log into RPA as boxmgmt and run detect fibre channel LUNs (menu options 3,2 and then 4) to see if the size
    is correct on the RPA.
  5. If at this point it is still not showing correctly in the GUI, log into the RPA as admin user and run rescan_san from the command prompt.
  6. Using the RecoverPoint Console, add the journal LUN back to the CG.

    a. Highlight the Consistency group.
    b. Click Replication SetsTab and double-click the Replication Set containing the journal LUN to be resized
    c. Select the correct journal volume from the list on the left side pane.
    d. Click Add new journal volume.
    e. Click Apply.
  7. Enable Consistency Group.

    a. Right-click Consistency Group.
    b. Select Enable group.

Please mark my answer as correct/helpful answer if it helps.

A Distributed Consistency group requires a minimum journal size of either 20GB or 40GB (off the top of my head) depending on the RPA software version you are using.  Checked the documentation for the corrected minimum journal size and be forewarned that the maximum number of Distributed Consistency Group is 8.  Basically, don't go crazy creating DCGs.  -Craig

Sorry I didn't fully ready your message.   It seems you figured out the minimum size for DCGs journal.  In general, the easiest method would be to suspend replication for the CGs that you are modifying the journals for and do a full resync.
