RecoverPoint for vm on different site but same Vcenter
hello,
i would to know how it works if i want to implement RP4VM on 2 different site, but within the same vcenter. The customer wish to have the ESXi managed by the same Vcenter. ( backup related if i understand correctly).
Thanks for your help.

Yes, you can deploy a single vRPA cluster and this will allow a local copy.

There is are no specific requirements other than the typical requirements which are to ensure that the vRPAs have connectivity to each ESX cluster for the datastores and vmkernel ports. You would deploy the vRPA in one of the ESX clusters.

Hi there,
Just to reiterate, as Rich stated, they can deploy a single vRPA cluster which would allow them to do local replication and RPVM doesn't have any issue with replicating to RPVM clusters within the same vCenter (and ESX cluster).
That said, If they need a DR solution, it would be recommended to configure 2 RPVM clusters w/ remote replication. Finally, it would be recommended to protect vCenter with vCenter HA as vCenter is a management SPOF and if production site failure causes vCenter failure then management of the secondary site would be impacted, unless vCenter HA, which RPVM fully supports, is deployed.
