Recoverpoint CDP (Synchronous ) Vs Netapp Metrocluster
Hi Team,
We are trying to procure 2 VNX +Recoverpoint versus Netapp metrocluster,The Netapp metrocluster provides active -active access at both sites , Can this functionality be achived by 2 (VNX and Recoverpoint appliance).The two sites will have synchrnous replication through Recoverpoint(RPA)

I just noticed that you mentioned CDP in the subject. CDP can be used in two ways.
1. Create copies of the data on the same array. You have a source LUN on Array1 and you use CDP to create a local synchronous copy on the same array, Array1
2. Stretched CDP. Create a synchronous copy of the source LUN (Array1) to another array (Array2)

Yes it can. You can have access to LUNs at the production site and at the same time have access to LUNs at the dr site.

Thanks , Are you talking about the same luns having access at both sites or different luns with biderectional replication.

Different LUNs. Prod array has access to the LUNs at the prod site and the dr array has access the LUNs at the dr site. Two seperate arrays/sites
