RecoverPoint and Zero / Dead Space Reclaim with VMAX
According to Article 000317412 (https://emcservice.force.com/CustomersPartners/kA5j00000008S8QCAU) Zero / Dead Space Reclaim doesn't work on LUNs that are replicated using RecoverPoint, as "Not supported with devices in use by RecoverPoint".
I'm assuming this is because the coding to deal with this in RecoverPoint would be very complex to replicate the changes of the released dead space in the source to the target?
Are there any plans to add this functionality for VMAX 10/20/40k?
Does it work with VMAX3?
Are there any practical workarounds - other than buying more disk from EMC :-) ?

As RecoverPoint uses ORS in the VMAX10 - 40K this feature is not supported. The RecoverPoint solution for the VMAX3 uses Snap Based Replication in conjunction with SnapVX, so SnapVX will have to support the VAAI primitive.
