RecoverPoint and MirrorView
In the release notes for RecoverPoint the following statement is made:
"RecoverPoint replication and MirrorView replication cannot concurrently operate on the same volume."
However, I'm unable to find any further explanation of this. I am currently working with a company who is doing just that without any problems (none that they are aware of anyway). They are using RecoverPoint CRR to replicate a LUN to a remote Celerra and are also replicating the same LUN to a different CX using MirrorView/S.
Can anyone shed any more light on the statement made in the release notes?
Thanks,
Aaron

Hi Aaron,
Greeting for the day.
Recoverpoint Replication and Mirrorview replication can not run on same volume otherwise data corruption will occur. The main problem is that they are 2 challenging resources on the same LUN and if one of them should recover the data, the other one will not know about it, and it will lead to data corruption. Hence EMC is not recommending to have concurrent operation from the same LUN for Recoverpoint and Mirrorview replication. In your setup, It may be RPQ'd.
If you need more information, you can contact EMC recoverpoint support team with a Service Request. Hope this information is useful. Thank you.
Cheers!!!!
