Recover Point consistency group question

Hello,

I have a quick question. I am replicating all of file systems that pertain to an Oracle cluster. They are all on separate servers but I wanted to keep the cluster stuff like that in one consistency group. The CG has 10 luns from 4 different servers.  My question is can I just recover one or two luns if I can only stand up one or two servers at the DR site. It has to be determined if we are going hot site or cold site. Is is better to put each server's file systems in their own consistency group?

Many thanks in advance,

Hi,

In the case of a shared cluster, all of the LUNs would usually be recovered at the same time since they are all required to be online to build the volume groups, etc. If you have the requirements to separate the LUNs our for testing on the DR side, it would likely be better for you to create CG's for each servers set of LUNs and then utilize parallel bookmarks across those 4 CG's for a parallel point-in-time recovery across the federated set of servers as desired.

This way you will have the flexibility you desire above, but also have federated PiT's across all servers for a consistent "cluster" image.
