Query on limiting the bandwidth usage on CG running RPA SE 3.5 SP2
Dear All,
I have a query on the Link Usage by individual CG on Recoverpoint Appliance. We have RPA SE cluster consist of two RPA running on
3.5 SP2, recently we have upgraded the link from 1 Mbps to 100 Mbps MPLS network.
We are asked to limit the usage to 10 Mbps which we have done on the current CG, my question is if we add multiple CG and restrict the
usage on all CG to 10 Mbps will all the CG be forced to use the initial 10 Mbps channel or will they try to accommodate in the rest of 90 Mbps left which is still untouched. I understand we may not be able to achieve the performance which we may achieve if we unlock the complete bandwidth, but this is as per customer requirement.
Currently Primary RPA is set to RPA 1, and we do not have any plans to implement distributed consistency group.
Looking forward for all your expert support.

Hi,
If you want to rate limit all of the RPA communication you will have to effectively limit all CGs that you create on all the RPAs to 10Mb like it sounds like you are planning. If you only do this first CG and do not do the future ones.....they will try to consume the additional bandwidth while only your first CG is limited to 10Mb. So basically it is an all or nothing limit across all CGs on the RPAs to limit the aggregate RP limit at a network level.
