Question:

How many RPA are needed for below environment?

Would this be Recover Point CRR or CDP?

Environment : Using Recover Point/SE , 2 VNX in one site .

Answer:

CRR is define as 2 site and 1 site need 2 RPA ... means you need to have 4 RPA at minimum. SE only supports One storage per RPA cluster, So if you have 2 VNX event in one site , you still need to use CRR.

This is definition in RecoverPoint/SE.

Number of sites >

Continous Data Protection(CDP)--> One Site

Continuous Remote Replication (CRR)---> Two Site

Concurrent Local and Remote data protection ---> (CLR)Two Site

Number of RPA per Site  2-8> 

Number of storage supported >

RecoverPoint/SE--> One storage per RPA cluster

RecoverPoint/EX--> Unlimited

RecoverPoint/CL--> Unlimited
