Migrating from Mirrorview to Recoverpoint, updating SRM
HI there,
Quick question, when moving from MV to RP, do you just need to install the RP SRA then update the protection policies in SRM? Is there anything else I should consider.

Hi Ed,
Yes that is pretty much it other than configure the CG for SRM external management.

Hi,
If you are installing RecoverPoint to utilize the same LUNs that MV is protecting today, then when you install the SRA and point it to the RP Site Management IPs for discovery, the datastore groupings in SRM will change to those CG's defined in RP versus any grouping at the Mirrorview level. During that time of the SRA swap, the VM's will most likely be unprotected, but the protection group should be able to be reconfigured to add or remove datastore groups as part of that protection group. The modification of the recovery plan should allow the same except that you can't change the recovery site with that edit I believe. If you have SRM setup now, you can probably check on the edit settings of existing recovery plans to validate.
Not sure if it helps a ton, but you should be able to edit the protection group and then the recover plan from the documentation.

Thanks for the reply, I had a word with a colleague and they weren't sure if you could modify the recovery plan to use the modified protection policy or if you need to create a new plan. Do you have any insight to this?
