Is there any documentation on configuring the iSCSI for vRPAs?

I'm installing vRPAs for the first time and can't find any documentation on configuring the iSCSI connectivity prior to running through the deployment manager. SolVe gives me information on best practice and limits, but nothing about configuration.

I found some old videos online, but they were back when the vRPAs used FC pass through, not iSCSI.

I have two ports on a VNX5200 configured for iSCSI and I have two iSCSI/TOE ports on each VMware hosts configured.

I'm confused as to how the vRPA is supposed to connect though and what steps need to be done before deploying the cluster.

Appreciate any help.

Hi,

The general steps for deploying the vRPA are mixed in with the physical RPA's as it flows through the Deployment Manager process in the RP Install and Deployment Guide (https://support.emc.com/docu9565_RecoverPoint-Installation-and-Deployment-Guide.pdf?language=en_US). Not sure if something like what is detailed on page 55 of this guide is what you are looking for or not, but it will highlight the fields that need to be filled in for using vRPA's and what each field means in terms of what you need to have setup and gathered prior to deployment.

There is also a vRPA technical notes document located here with the best practices and configuration information for deplpoyment of a cluster with vRPA's (https://support.emc.com/docu47346_RecoverPoint-vRPA-Technical-Notes.pdf?language=en_US)

HTH,

-Keith

I would add one more thing, that if your intent is to deploy RecoverPoint for VMs, then please review the RPVM Installation Guide
