Is RecoverPoint Multi-Site Supported?
Our customer has two VNX in synchronous replication via Recoverpoint/SE CDP. They run a VMWare environment for their Exchange, Oracle applications.
They want now to replicate their production environment to a third site in asynchronous. We want to propose SAN Copy + RM because RP multisite is not yet supported, but I don’t know:
- if it’s supported ?
- If it’s better to use Snap or Clone with RM for the SAN copy session and if we must use the Source RecoverPoint Lun or mirror source RecoverPoint Lun ?
- What will be the impact from application point of view if we replicate the VM LUN ?
Thank you
Nick

Correct multi-site is not supported until 4.0 which is due for GA in May.
If you require a third copy at another site you should consider using SAN Copy from the target at Site B in conjunction with logged image access. However, you may have to snap or clone the target before using SAN Copy due to the impact of image access.

Hi Nick,
You stated CDP ad you mention a third site so am I right in presuming the customer is currently using stretch CDP between two sites?

Richard;
Thank you for responding.
They are in CRR between the two first sites, and Recoverpoint doesn't support yet multi-site CRR ... that why we have to go with SANCopy.
Is it better to go with Snap or Clone with SAN Copy?
Thank you
