I'm getting the following error during the setup process of Recover Point for VM's. Please advise.

I reached out to fadliz and he informed me that while the problem I am running into appears to be a certificate issue, it could also stem from the fact that we are running ver 4.2 on vSphere 6 and even if we could get past this error, we would run into other problems. He advised that we downgrade to vSphere 5.5 or wait until July with 4.3 is released with support for vSphere 6.

Make sure the datastore selected for the repository is on persistent storage and on a VMFS datastore.

i have very same situation. Cannot select iscsi or fc lun. Checked all similar threads here but non of solutions don´t apply.
Everything is implemented. In my case i have vsphere and vcenter 6 . Is RP for VM supported by newer vmware ?

I responded on the following presumption. Can you confirm that you have:
- installed the splitter on all the ESXi hosts in the ESXi cluster
- that the iSCSI Software Adapter is installed on each ESXi host
- that two iSCSI vmkernel ports have been created on each ESXi host to facilitate iSCSI communication with the vRPA VMs

vSphere v6 is currently being qualified as part of the RP4VMs 4.3 release due in July. Please refer to the latest RP4VMs 4.2 Installation and Deployment Guide.

I've confirmed that the items on your list have been setup and configured. I'm at a loss as to what I should do.

Because ESX 6 isn't qualified yet, would that produce this error?

Possibly. Can you check in the datastore that you selected for the vRepository there is an RPvStorage sub-directory with a 6GB VMDK vRepository disk.

I don't understand what you are asking, can you please clarify? I've tried selecting 4 different data stores and all produce the same errors. Two of them are brand new and look like the one below.

Non of them have a sub-directly called "RPvStorage " with a 6GB VMDK.

Typically, this is due to either certificate/cred issue or we have seen also a DM timeout issue (see KB: 196220)
Please validate the VC version and cert file that you'r using w/ the deployment guide and if needed contact myself or Rich offline to further troubleshoot the issue.

I have almost similar issue when setting up RPA for VM clusters.
Could you please advice. And I am quite confusing on the part
- that the iSCSI Software Adapter is installed on each ESXi host
- that two iSCSI vmkernel ports have been created on each ESXi host to facilitate iSCSI communication with the vRPA VMs
Do you have any link or document on how to do this? I have created the iscsi software adapter an also the vmkernal ports but just to confirm I have done it correctly.
Appreciate you help. Thanks.

Once you have created the vmkernel ports, simply bind them to the software iSCSI adapter (ensure no NIC teaming and that they are on the same broadcast domain as the vRPA iSCSI ports). Check the RPVM Deployment Guide as well as deployment videos on the ECN.

Can you check to see if there is an RPvStorage folder in any of the datastores you selected during the virtual repository creation step.
