Can the Journal Volume be located on the same data-store as the VM's?
Can the Journal Volume be located on the same data-store as the VM's? Meaning, I have an existing datastore with VM's on it. I do not have a datastore available to dedicate to the journal volume. Is it possible for testing to store the journal volume on the same datastore?

Yes, as long as you understand the write profile for target journals.

I'm assuming that double the writes will be occurring on the same volume, correct? Is there any other considerations to be aware of?

In 5 phase distribution, there’re 5 IOPS that take place at the target Journal and replica. 3 operations against the Journal and 2 ops on the actual replica. When sizing journals keep in mind required throughput, required protection window and that RPAs write sequential large IOs unlike applications IOs which tend to be more random and that’s why it’s good idea to separate the workload. Also, keep in mind that source Journals are not typically used unless in marking mode or when replication direction is reversed.
