About stretched CDP limitation
I was told that in RecoverPoint stretched CDP solution, it's not able to failover to DR site or failback directly. Is that true? And why?
Is there any differece between normal CDP and stretched CDP?

Hi Frank,
The supported configuration for stretch CDP cnan be found in the RP Admin Guide:
Stretch CDP
- in which the production host exists at the local site, splitters and storage exist at both the bunker site and the local site, and the RPAs only exist at the bunker site. In this configuration, the repository volume and both the production and local journals exist at the bunker site.
Based on the above statement any ability to failover or failback would be dependent on the operation of the RPAs based at the DR/bunker site. If these were lost or impacted in any way then failover and failback capability could also be lost or impacted.
Regards,
Richard
