Which model PowerEdge should I upgrade to ?

Good day all,

I have PowerEdge R720, PowerEdge R730, PowerEdge R740 and PowerEdge R750. The 720, 730 and 740 have all reached End of Life. Which is the recommended replacement for them?

Thanks

The 17Gen AMD based Poweredged are already to Quote and will be shipped next month.   Beause youre have Intel systems the Rx7x are comming early next year?

So if you need to buy it now its a R760.

Hint: yes its a 2 socket but we often configure it with only one CPU (24C for example).  There are price optimised Models like R760xs (half of usable DIMM slots...)

@Origin3k Hey thanks for your response, from it I was able to research more towards my application. So, the 17Gen seems to have a R770 with Intel Xenon, so essentially if I were to upgrade, the most like for like would be the R770 2U system.

And just to confirm what you are saying; the AMD version of this 17Gen is available right now but maybe Q1 next year the Intel version will be available. Conversely, if I wanted a replacement now, I could go with the 16th Gen intel which will be the R760?

Correct. The R760 is the current 16Gen PowerEdge.

Maybe R770 comes in late December.   Please take notice that the R770 CSP (CloudServiceProvider) Edition with the "E"fficiency Cores already is there. But the bread&butter modell with the "P"erformance cores is that what we want and this comes in late 2024 or early 2025.
