VRTX faster than 10Gbps

Hi,

I am wondering if its possible to get faster than 10Gbps ethernet with the VRTX in any way besides adding one pcie card for each blade?

I know ConnextX-3 mezzanine cards exists for the blades, i.e. dell part 406-10545 - but I haven't been able to find any ConnextX-3 switch modules, so I have a hard time figuring out if its even possible to use with the VRTX or if the mezzanine card is only for the blades when used with a m1000 chassis.

Even though the compatibility for the mezzanine card says:

Designed For
PowerEdge FC630, FC830, M420, M620, M630, M830, M830P

Where the last is the name for the M830 blade for the VRTX, so it seems like its possible.

Others are selling:

But when I look up the part number on the dell support website, nothing comes up.

Can anyone help me shed light on this.

Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no higher speed than 10Gbps. I've created a case up for this thread, for the engineering to pull on demands. Hopefully there is new editions than the 2 models.

Hi,

Are you referring to Fabric A in the VRTX? Page 31: https://dell.to/3cPRFsv

Fabric A supports Dell PowerEdge VRTX 10 Gb R1-2210 switch module

https://dell.to/3cQc1Sp

If that's what you're looking for?

Actually as mu posting stated - I am looking for faster than 10Gbps.

If that is not supported other than via a pcie card, then that is how it is.

But it would be nice to know if Dell plan on expanding the switch capabilities, by adding a third faster option to the   R1-2401 and  R1-2210.

Thanks

Thanks,

That would be awesome if dell started offering faster than 10Gbps for the VRTX just like the M1000e.
