Strange Issues With Dell Server

Hi Yall,

I have a Dell PowerEdge R330 that I am trying to configure as my firewall. This system is configured with a Dual SFP+ Card, 16gb of RAM, and an Intel E3-1280v6. When I install a freebsd based operating system on this system such as OPNsense or PFsense the server will not route to its client devices properly. When I am connected to the server via a KVM switch I can connect to the console and ping the next gateway up such as 10.0.0.1 or even a vlan gateway such as 10.0.4.1, however the network that the Dell Server should be hosting is completely unroutable. The network that the Dell server sets up is 192.168.1.1/24 and when I connect a device to that lan such as a windows laptop the device will inform me that there is no network access on the lan and in fact cannot see the lan, ping it or access the web gui of the firewall. This issue is very strange in the sense the if I were to install Windows Server 2022 on the system I could then access the system via RDP, ICMP pings and other means but only when a freebsd based operating system is installed it all breaks down.

Hello thanks for choosing Dell.

From what I see, this doesn't work on the freebsd  OS only, and the issue is most likely with the OS. Maybe it's best you contract the OS provider. Sorry I couldn't be of much help.
