Removing BOSS card due to noise issues
Hi folks,
Has anyone removed a BOSS card in their server?
I've got an issue with multiple servers now have fans so loud because of the BOSS cards.
I wonder, is it just a case of pulling the card, and then the fans go quiet?
Or am I going to pull the boss card, and still have the problem ?

Hello I think we had had a case before when customer removed boss to slow down fans.

"release notes "245144: BOSS M2 thermal improvements in PowerEdge R450 and PowerEdge R650xs servers."
so new iDRAC will be more aggressive with the fans to cool BOSS.

Yeah - This is for an R550 - And the volume difference between the R540 and R550 is *massive*.
A huge embarrassment and design failure to not warn people about this.
